Old Coloniel Painting
For this project, I was in a group of three restoring a painting that was old, chipped, torn and stained. It was about 2 foot wide and 1 ½ foot tall. We each took a part of the painting and restored our individual parts. When we were finished, we combined all three parts into a single Photoshop file. After adjusting the color and placement, we finally got all three parts to match. We did all our restorations in Photoshop. In the end the final product turned out well; we fixed practically all the imperfections from the original painting along with lightening up the painting which had faded over time.
Dolly Parton Live Event Poster
During my internship in the summer of 2012, I interned at a local theater. During my internship I was asked to design a live event poster promoting the Dolly Parton live event in Photoshop. I framed the three images of Dolly Parton present in the foreground to look like photographs. I also arranged the photographs to look as through they weren't arranged in any particular order. This provides a great focal point for the viewer. Then after reading the headline the viewer is guided to the copy below the photographs by a background image of Dolly. Through the use of vibrant colors and the layout of the three images framed as photographs, a visually appealing poster is created.
Cereal Box Project
After doing some preliminary work including brainstorming names, sketching and taking a look at the other cereal boxes out there, I was asked to create a cereal box in InDesign. I also used Illustrator and Photoshop. In the design I was required to include a picture of the cereal and a game or puzzle on the back of the box. I wrote the content myself. I used a vibrant yellow color scheme to increase visual interest, also it goes along nicely with the name "HoneyBees" and it helps portray "HoneyBees" as a fun cereal. The bear cartoon appeals to the target audience and it also helps portray the fun theme. The honeycomb pattern provides a nice backdrop against the other elements in the foreground; these elements provide visual interest and together they send off the right message.
